So where to from here?
I gave you a brief explanation of reflection/projection. Now we move onto insight and
awareness. This is about learning to perceive yourself in a different way than you have before.
Sometimes called the objective observer, the silent witness, or the inner self. Depends on who is
providing the explanation. So now let me throw in my two cents. As you continue to reflect,
you learn to separate the feelings from the facts. The focus is on you, the person, who you are,
not what happens to you. You learn to think about your feelings and not let your feelings do the
thinking for you. You focus on your own behavior and not on your reaction to someone else’s
behavior. I know this isn’t easy in the beginning, but it is doable and it will allow you to respond
and not react to what is happening.
YOU CAN’T CONTROL ANYONE OR ANYTHING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. YOU CAN’T EVEN CONTROL YOUR OWN FEELINGS. BUT, YOU CAN CONTROL HOW YOU HANDLE YOUR FEELINGS.
You learn to reflect, think, respond. This allows you to explore all possible choices about how to handle yourself first, and then how to handle your response to the situation or person.
Next blog will be about learning how to make wise choices as you gain insight and awareness of
the truth of who you are, not just what happened to you.
